Myers was at his desk in the situation room when he was summoned over to one of the analyst’s desks. He went over to it and stood over the analyst’s shoulder, looking at his screen.

“Whatcha got?” Myers asked.

The analyst brought up a video. “I was able to find this here.”

“What are we looking at?”

“After the shooting in Paris, I constructed an algorithm to instruct all cameras in the area to only focus on Porter’s face. With all the chaos going on, I figured she wasn’t going to have time to stay out of their view, or even find where they were.”

“Makes sense.”

“So I got this video from a cam a few streets away from that.”

The analyst played the video, and they watched as Porter ran toward a motorcycle parked along the street. Myers was stunned by what he saw next. He observed a man that looked like Evan run toward the same motorcycle.

“Zoom in on that guy,” Myers said.

The analyst did as he was directed, bringing up a clearer shot of the man’s face. There was no question as to who it was.

“That’s Evan.” Myers then recalled the last conversation he had with Evan. “He told me they went in completely separate directions after the incident.”

“They’re clearly together there.”

They watched the video as the two of them got on the motorcycle and drove away.

“Do you have anything more here?” Myers asked.

“Not of this incident, no. They drove off and I couldn’t pick them up again. But I did find something else.”

“What?”

“Remember we were wondering about the identity of the guy that helped Porter out after the incident at her apartment? The motorcycle guy?”

“Yeah?”

“Well, I compared the bike here with the videos we have of that one. I did a side-by-side comparison.”

Myers looked at the comparison as it was brought on screen. “It’s the same bike.”

“No doubt about it.”

“Evan helped her out there.”

“And right after the shooting,” the analyst said.

Myers stood there, stroking his chin as he stared at the pictures. “They’re together.”

“It would certainly seem that way. What should we do?”

Myers thought about it, but he wasn’t ready to give any orders at the moment. There was still a lot to consider. Evan being in the game changed everything.

“Nothing right now,” Myers said. “See if you can get a fix on Evan’s position.”

“He doesn’t have a microchip, and his phone can’t be traced either.”

Myers sighed. As he thought about it more, he believed he had the answer. “Elena Buskaya.”

“What?”

“That’s where they’re going.”

“Where?”

“Ukraine. Elana Buskaya.”

“Who is that?” the analyst asked. “And why is Porter going to visit her?”

“Because Porter thinks that’ll give her some answers.”

“Will it?”

“Not if we’ve got anything to say about it,” Myers replied. He then stepped away from the desk and took out his phone to make a call. “Hey, what’s our situation in Ukraine right now?”

“We’ve got a few people,” the male voice said. “Why? What’s going on?”

“I think we’re about to have a Priority One.”

“When?”

“Not sure,” Myers said. “Soon.”

“I’ll get as many people as I can. Who and where’s the target?”

“Cari Porter.
